Cybernet partnered with Intel to develop an advanced Windows-based medical tablet using Intel’s new Cedarview platform that is designed for low power consumption devices. Intel Asia invited Cybernet to display the CyberMed T10 tablet at the China Medical Equipment Fair being held in Shenzhen, China April 17-20, 2012.
According to Express Computer , New Delhi based Simmtronics Semiconductors is set to increase its Tablet PC production capacity to 6 lakh units per month by the end of 2012.
Currently it has increased its Tablet PC production capacity to 3 lakh units per month making it the first manufacturer in India to achieve a production capacity of 3 lakh units. Simtronics plans to export their Tablet PCs to Dubai and South Africa apart from selling them in India.
Aakash Tablet PC manufactured by UK based Datawind, 1,00,000 units of which were to be supplied to the Ministry of HRD, India, is set to face further delay. This time Datawind has alleged that Hyderabad based Quad Electronics has violated its Intellectual Property Rights. Datawind has outsourced assembling of Aakash Tablet PC to Quad Electronics and has now snapped its ties with Quad Electronics.

As part of its Learning Series, Intel has launched the Intel Studybook, an education Tablet. Intel’s Learning Series aims at bringing technology to the classroom by combining specially chosen hardware, software and content for the classroom. Solutions are provided by local partners.

Logitech has launched its touch mouse in India. The Logitech Touch Mouse M600 has a touch surface that lets you navigate by moving your fingers around the surface and not having to move the mouse around. It does not have buttons and scroll wheels. Tap your finger on the left side for left click; tap it on right side for right click. Swipe your finger up or down to scroll.
Samsung has launched its Galaxy Tab 2 series of Tablets only for the US market. Speculations earlier were that the Tab 2 series will see an international launch. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 series will have Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system. The two tablets unveiled now are the first of the Android 4 Tablet PCs from Samsung.
Micromax, an Indian maker of budget smart phones has entered the Tablet PC market. The new Tablet PC branded as ‘Funbook’ is positioned as an Edutainment (Education and Entertainment) Tablet. The Funbook Tablet runs on Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) operating system.
