How to use 'Memory' (RAM) Manager in Android Marshmallow?

The memory manager in Android Marshmallow shows you the memory usage by apps. You can view the Average memory usage by all apps combined and also memory usage by individual apps. If you find that an app is overusing the memory, you can force stop it from the Memory section itself.

To view the Memory reports:

Go to settings>>Memory

This screen shows the average memory usage by all apps combined. You can see that the report shows that the memory performance is 'Normal'. You have the option to memory usage in the last 3hrs, 6hrs, 12hrs and 1day.

To view memory report for individual apps:

Tap 'Memory used by apps'

You can see the average memory usage by individual apps on this screen. Tap any app to see further details of memory usage by that app.

In this report you can view the frequency and maximum memory usage of the app. If an app causes performance issues by overusing memory, you can force stop the app. To do so, tap the menu (Android menu icon), and then tap 'Force stop'.
