Stick to your budget by setting a maximum limit for mobile data consumption on your Android. Optionally, include WiFi consumption also in this limit.

To set a maximum mobile data limit (monthly limit):

  1. Go to Settings>>Data usage
  2. Enable 'Mobile Data'
  3. Now enable 'Set mobile data limit' (option visible only when mobile data is enabled)
  4. You will see two lines that you can hold and drag up or down:
  5. mobile data limit

    1. Drag the red line up or down to set a 'maximum' limit. Your mobile data will turn off once you reach this limit.
    2. Drag the black line up or down to set a 'warning' limit. You will get a warning when you reach this limit, but mobile data will remain enabled.

That sets a monthly mobile data limit and helps you stick to your budget.

To count WiFi consumption toward maximum limit:

  1. Go to Settings>>Data usage
  2. Tap the 3 dot menu on top right
  3. network restrictions

  4. Tap Network restrictions
  5. From the list of WiFi networks available, enable the network that you want to be counted towards the maximum limit. Note: You will available networks only if you have enabled WiFi.
