How to save Chrome bookmarks as website shortcuts on Android home screen?
You might access some Chrome bookmarks more frequently than the others. You can save such bookmarks as website shortcuts on the Android home screen using the 'Bookmarks 1x1' widget.
To save Chrome bookmarks as website shortcuts on Android home screen:
Long press (touch and hold your finger down) on any empty space on your Android home screen. This will bring up a list of three options: Wallpapers, Widgets and Settings.
Touch the option 'Widgets'
Scroll through the widgets and find the widget 'Bookmark 1x1'. Touch and hold to select the widget. Then drop it on the home screen.
Now choose a bookmark to save as the shortcut. That's all that you need to do to create the shortcut on home screen. You can quickly access the website by touching the shortcut.
How is this method different from creating a website shortcut from the Chrome menu?
If you are using the Chrome bookmark sync feature, this method is useful. You can add a webpage to your bookmarks in your PC save it as a shortcut on your Android. There would be no need to find the webpage on your Android again to save it as a shortcut.
