How to convert a password protected PDF file in to a password-free file?

Frequently opening a password protected PDF file can be annoying. You can create a password free version of the file to avoid entering password everytime. The chrome browser can help us convert a password protected PDF file into a password-free file.

Note: This is not about cracking the password. You must know the password to convert the file into a password-free file.

Steps to convert a password protected PDF file in to a password-free file:

  • Open chrome browser
  • Go to File>>Open File
  • Select the password protected PDF file and click 'open'
  • Enter the password to open the file
  • Now click File>>Print
  • save pdf as password free file

  • Check if 'Save as PDF' is selected as destination. Else click 'Change' button and select 'Save as PDF'.
  • Now click 'Save'
  • Enter a file name for the new file and click 'Save'. The new file created is a password-free version of the original PDF file.
